SUPPORT IN A TIME OF UNCERTAINTY

More than 50 years ago, civil unrest rocked the nation, including the culturally rich, ethnically diverse neighborhoods of north Minneapolis. That unrest led to the creation of NorthPoint (then Pilot City) with the vision to address longstanding racial disparities and create a more just society.

Today, that vision is unrealized. Every day at NorthPoint, we see the ongoing impacts of inequities in housing, education, employment, criminal justice, and other areas on the people we serve. The global pandemic is hitting the communities we serve particularly hard, with people of color impacted at higher rates due to underlying health conditions caused by lack of access to nutritious food, clean air and water, and other social determinants of health.

Your donation today is critical to ensuring the people we serve have their basic needs met in a time of great uncertainty. Funds will support emergency food for individuals and families, rental and utility assistance to keep people in their homes, employment counseling, mental health support, and more to address day-to-day needs and promote stability as our community and nation continue to be impacted by COVID-19.  We are grateful for this support and we thank you for your generosity.

We also ask you to leverage your own personal and professional networks and use your power to create meaningful change in the structures and systems that perpetuate the status quo of racism and injustice. In this time of disruption and uncertainty, we hope you will join with us in a return to a new normal – a better world for all.

NorthPoint Health & Wellness Center, Inc. has been providing services designed to meet basic needs and promote health and self-reliance for over 50 years. While providing support during an emergency is temporary, sometimes hunger and poverty create a cycle that becomes very difficult to overcome without addressing the underlying cause.

NorthPoint provides services designed to meet basic needs including food and housing assistance, while also addressing the underlying causes of poverty and health and wellness disparities. We also create linkages to healthcare and other support services that enable families and neighbors in our community to achieve stability and thrive.
